MSOE students are bright, creative, hard-working and fun to be around. Ours is a close-knit community of about 3,000 students, faculty and staff—large enough for big opportunities and small enough for personal attention. Since 1903, MSOE has been offering an applications-based education, partnering with leaders of business and industry to shape the institution’s development. Early supporters realized that their future depended upon educational institutions that could prepare men and women to fill newly created engineering and management positions.

Today, MSOE offers 17 bachelor’s degrees and 11 master’s degrees. The students who attend MSOE come from all parts of the United States and dozens of other countries. More than 20,000 alumni live and work throughout the United States and abroad, and nearly 2,000 of them own their own businesses or are officers of companies.

Dr. Kenneth Dobbs is an assistant professor in MSOE's Rader School of Business. He has industrial experience as a senior quantitative equity analyst for Lotsoff Capital Management; in Deloitte & Touche's Corporate Finance Group; as an equity research, associate analyst-paper and forest products at Dean Witter Reynolds; as a tax accountant with Arthur Anderson LLP; and as an independent trader and independent insurance agent.
